Every family that shares something — a summer cabin, a trailer, a boat — eventually drowns in the same group chat. Is the cabin free week 28? Did anyone take the trailer Saturday? Who’s there right now? The information exists; it’s just scattered across SMS, Messenger and someone’s memory.
Turas is the small thing I built to end that. One shared calendar for the thing you share.
How it works
- You sign up and add the resource — the cabin, the trailer, whatever it is.
- You get a link and a QR code. Share it with the family.
- Everyone else just opens the link and books. No account, no app to install — they pick their name and pick their dates.
Double-bookings aren’t blocked, because families sometimes share a weekend on purpose. They’re just flagged clearly — on the calendar and as you book.
The nice parts
- Every resource has a calendar feed (iCal) you can subscribe to, so the bookings show up next to your own in Google or Apple Calendar.
- Pro (149 kr/year) unlocks unlimited resources and fair cost-splitting: enter the year’s electricity bill, pick “per night”, and Turas works out who owes what from the nights actually booked.
Built with
React and a small PHP/SQLite backend behind Apache. No framework to fight, no database server to babysit — the whole thing is one SQLite file I can copy for a backup. Same instinct as everything else here: small, boring, mine.
It’s live at turas.se. Swedish first; an English version will follow if people use it.
